How Can I Upgrade Commercial Fire Systems to Use IP or Cellular Communications?
Posted July 30, 2021 | Security Equipment Supply, Inc. (SES)
Many commercial accounts want to upgrade their fire systems to use cellular and/or IP communications. Older systems that use traditional telephone lines for connectivity are becoming increasingly impractical as service providers upgrade their networks to more modern technology. Upgrading fire systems to use cellular and/or IP can save customers money on monthly connectivity costs and can provide a higher level of security with faster data transmissions.
The Bosch B465-MRV-120WI Fire Communicator Kit
The Bosch B465-MRV-120WI Fire Communicator Kit includes the B465 Dual Path Communicator and virtually everything else needed to upgrade a fire system that uses traditional telephone lines.
The Bosch B465 Dual Path Communicator converts the existing fire system’s digital dialer or dry contact outputs to an IP signal for transmission over its built-in Ethernet connection or over the cellular network to the central station receiver. The B465-MRV-120WI Fire Communicator Kit includes a B-444V plug-in cellular module for use on the Verizon LTE network.
The communicator is compatible with fire control panels using Contact ID, SIA, Pulse 3/1 or Pulse 4/2 communication formats, as well as Modem II, Modem IIe and Modem llla2 (auto detecting). All messages generated internally by the B465 are shown in Contact ID format at the central station.
