Important Safety Notice for Silent Knight Dealers
Immediate Action Required
Summary: A power supervision issue has been identified between certain Honeywell Silent Knight 6000 Series addressable fire alarm control panels and System Sensor intelligent addressable sounder bases that can be resolved with a firmware upgrade to the panel.
This is not a recall.
Issue: Power to System Sensor intelligent addressable sounder bases (models B200S, B200S-IV, B200S-WH, B200S-LF, B200S-LF-IV and B200S-LF-WH) is unsupervised when connected to certain Honeywell Silent Knight 6000 Series addressable fire alarm control panels. As a result, no trouble condition is displayed on the panel if 24 VDC power is disconnected from the sounder base. In this extremely low probability situation, an alarm or supervisory condition would not trigger the affected sounder base to sound. However, the panel will still indicate an alarm on the display and will communicate the event to the central station, if programmed. Local annunciators or other notification appliance circuit (NAC) devices will continue to perform as designed if pull stations or other detectors are activated.
Models Affected: All Silent Knight 6700, 6808, 6820 and 6820EVS addressable FACPs manufactured after March 26, 2020 [date codes 1420 to 4120] or running firmware v6.01.03 or v6.02.07.
Action Required: All Silent Knight 6700, 6808, 6820 and 6820EVS addressable FACPs manufactured after March 26, 2020 [date codes 1420 to 4120] or running firmware v6.01.03 or v6.02.07 are required to be upgraded to firmware v6.02.50 or higher.
The Honeywell Silent Knight 6000 Series addressable FACPs were designed to accept panel firmware updates through a connected PC. To make the update, visit silentknight.com for a free download of the latest panel firmware. Once the “Firmware Update Utility 6.02.50 Application.exe” file has been downloaded, connect the PC to a 6000 Series FACP using a USB cable and run the Update Utility file.
