What Can the Third-Gen Nest Learning Thermostat Do?

The Google Nest learning thermostat is the first thermostat to get ENERGY STAR certified, according to Google. It is designed to learn the temperatures that your customer likes and builds a schedule around those preferences. It also features Wi-Fi communications capability, enabling customers to change temperatures from their smartphones when they are away from home.

According to independent studies, the Nest learning thermostat saved users an average of 10% to 12% on heating bills and 15% on cooling bills.

The third-generation Nest learning thermostat has a big, sharp display. Thanks to built-in motion sensing, the display lights up and shows the temperature, time or weather when your customer enters the room. It can also use sensors and the location of the customer’s phone to check if the customer has left the home, then set itself to a lower temperature to save energy.

The learning thermostat monitors your customer’s heating and cooling system, catching many system issues early and sending alerts to your customer’s smartphone as needed. Customers can press the display and turn a ring to see a summary of thermostat activity and to reach settings, energy history or their schedule.
