New RCI reader series show notably short lead times
It is unfortunate and common knowledge among security integrators and installers that the security industry has not been immune to the supply chain issues currently wreaking havoc across the globe. To reduce lead times and offer alternatives for security integrators, dormakaba has added a new line of access control readers and credentials to the RCI electronic access control portfolio.

The reader series offers solutions that include BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) readers and credentials for mobile phone-based applications, as well as high security 13.56 MHz smart card solutions, 433 MHz long-range solutions, and the widely adopted 125 kHz standard security solutions.
The new dormakaba RCI reader series includes:
• Conekt: High security and BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) solution that allows mobile credentials to be used from a compatible smartphone (iPhone or Android). These Conekt readers can also read high security 13.56 MHz smart credentials like DESFire EV2. They are ideal for “card only” applications, even if the mobile option will not be used.
Similar versions of Conekt BLE solutions for 125 kHz credentials are also available. This option is perfect for customers who wish to add a mobile option but continue using their existing standard security cards or fobs.
Conekt readers mounting options include wall mount, single-gang, or mullion. The wall mount reader has been particularly popular among dealers because, out of the box, it can be mounted as either a mullion or a single gang, as both mounting brackets are included with the reader. This allows for easier planning and less hassle when ordering.
• Pyramid: Standard security 125 kHz readers can read a host of 125kHz credentials, including HID® and Pyramid® credentials. dormakaba’s RCI reader and credential versatility make it ideal for use in existing installations that already use typical 125 kHz protocols and allows new installations to continue using a similar protocol.
• Ranger: long-range solution comprised of wireless receivers and transmitters that provide up to 200 feet of reading range for long-range applications like parking gates.
