Who Makes Good Smoke Detection for Multi-Family Dwellings?
The BRK SA511B Wireless Interconnect Battery Smoke Alarm with Voice is designed for residential and institutional applications including sleeping rooms of hospitals, hotels, motels, dormitories and other multifamily dwellings as defined in standard NFPA 101.
The alarm announces smoke detection in English from all interfaced smoke detectors. The photoelectric smoke detectors, powered by two AA batteries, are not only wireless for installation, but up to 12 such devices can be wirelessly interconnected.
The devices can be programmed for up to eleven pre-programmed locations so that the voice system can say, for example, “Warning. Evacuate, Smoke in Kitchen, enabling the source of smoke or combustion to be quickly determined. If a detector activates, the alert message is delivered from all connected smoke detectors.
Carrying the UL217 rating, the SA511B smoke detector interconnection system is perfect for life safety detection in added-on or stand-alone structures. The devices communicate using a two-way connection in a mesh network so that signals are repeated by each device that receives an alarm signal from another detector. With 65,000 security codes available, the communications can be readily programmed for network security.
The BRK SA511B smoke alarms include:

· Varying horn frequencies to help elderly clients with normal age-related hearing loss
· Low battery notifications can be silenced for eight hours
· Can be interconnected with additional smoke, carbon monoxide, heat alarms and relays using the SA520B bridge
